Privacy Policy

InkDeck is built to keep your study material yours. This page explains, in plain terms, what the app stores and who can see it.

What we collect

InkDeck does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address or contacts. Everything you create — decks, cards, handwriting, images, audio recordings and review history — is stored locally on your device.

iCloud sync

If iCloud is enabled on your device, your decks sync between your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data is held in your personal iCloud container: the developer of InkDeck cannot read, access or recover it. Apple's handling of that data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off at any time in iOS Settings or in the app.

Analytics and diagnostics

The app collects anonymous, aggregated usage and crash diagnostics to help find bugs and understand which features are used — for example, that a study session started, or that a purchase was restored. These reports are not linked to your identity and never include the contents of your cards. You can opt out of sharing diagnostics with Apple in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Purchases

InkDeck is free to download, with a limit on how many flashcard sets and cards the free version holds. Unlimited Cards is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that removes those limits on every device signed into your Apple ID. There is no subscription and no free trial.

The purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. InkDeck never sees or stores your payment details — Apple provides the app with a receipt that confirms your entitlement only. If you previously held an Ink Flashcards subscription, that access is honoured permanently and can be restored from the App Store at any time.

Third-party services

Children

InkDeck is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

  • Delete any deck or card at any time from within the app.
  • Turn off iCloud sync to keep everything on a single device.
  • Export your decks in the .inkdeck format and keep your own copies.
  • Deleting the app removes its local data from that device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the effective date above will be updated and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
